Natalie
Lady McAdden Nurse

Hello my name is Natalie.
I joined Lady Mcadden in March 2020. I have been a Nurse since 2004. My main area of nursing has been in Cancer Care, Women’s Health and Sexual Health. I really enjoy providing information and educating people to help reassure and empower them to be breast aware.
Breast Awareness is free, painless, takes minutes and should be part of our whole wellbeing. We would not ignore symptoms in other parts of our bodies and breasts should be no different.
We can only do what we can, such as eat well, look after our physical and mental health, attend the free screenings available to us and be breast aware. We should not put pressure on ourselves, it is just knowing what is normal for you and to know the changes to look out for. We are here for you, be it a concern or how to check yourself.

Lady McAdden Nurse

Since qualifying as a general nurse in 2016, I have worked in sexual health, infectious diseases, breast care, burns care, and currently work as an infection control nurse. I really admire the work that we do at Lady McAdden because breast awareness is applicable to and fundamental for everyone. I truly believe early detection saves lives. Even though there is information out there not everyone knows what they can do to monitor and detect changes.
I am so happy to be here to support you in becoming more breast aware, and confident to check and understand your body.

Gemma
Lady McAdden Nurse

Hello, I’m Gemma
I have been a qualified general nurse since 1999. I started my career working on an Oncology ward, immediately realising that I wanted to work within cancer. I have been privileged to meet and have cared for many patients diagnosed with cancer throughout my career, assisting with their treatment and sadly for many supporting their palliative care and end of life needs. As well as working at Lady McAdden, I continue to work as a Brain Tumour Nurse specialist. I have been supporting patients with their cancer fight for so many years and recognise for many that early detection could have resulted in better outcomes and saved their lives. I am hoping that by educating visitors to Lady McAdden on breast awareness, I can empower them to take responsibility for their bodies helping them to recognise what is the ‘norm’ for them to help them identify when something may be wrong, which maybe one day may save their lives.

Lady McAdden Nurse

Hello my name is Kerry.
I have been working in the NHS for over 30 years and my current post as a research nurse for 9 years. I have presented at various professional study days and promoted Nursing careers to secondary school students. I hope that in time, Breast awareness will become part of the national curriculum for years 11 and above , promoting a healthy awareness in the younger population.
