This September, the Lady McAdden team set out with a clear mission: to educate young men and women on the importance of checking their chests regularly – starting as early as their late teens.
By attending Freshers’ Fairs across Essex, we’ve had the opportunity to speak with hundreds of students, helping them understand what’s normal for their bodies so they can recognise any changes early. One of the most eye-opening moments was discovering how few young men knew that they, too, could be affected by breast cancer – a conversation we were proud to help start.
Our table, complete with eye-catching handmade knitted boobs, didn’t just brighten the room – it became a brilliant conversation starter. The relaxed, friendly vibe made it easy for people to ask questions, share stories, and leave feeling empowered with potentially life-saving knowledge.
Because when it comes to breast health, no question is too small and no one is too young to start checking.
