Do you love dancing? Looking for an enjoyable way to move your body and express yourself?
Dancing In The Dark is a time for you to let your body flow freely to the music free in an almost dark room.
Why in the dark?
1. Freedom from self-consciousness
Without mirrors or bright lights, there’s less focus on how you look and more on how you feel. This can make it easier to move freely and express yourself without judgement.
2. Emotional release
Darkness can feel safe and contained, allowing emotions to surface and move through the body. Many people find it helps release stress, frustration, or stored emotions in a gentle, embodied way.
3. Deeper mind–body connection
When visual input is reduced, you naturally tune in more to sensation, breath, rhythm and intuition. This can enhance body awareness and help you move in ways that feel nourishing rather than forced.
4. Nervous system regulation
Gentle, rhythmic movement in a low-stimulus environment can calm the nervous system, reducing feelings of overwhelm and supporting relaxation.
5. Boosted mood and energy
Movement releases endorphins, and dancing to music you enjoy can lift your mood, increase energy, and create moments of joy – even on difficult days.
No experience necessary just an open mind. A unique style of self-care for you to explore for yourself.
